This is a bittersweet ongoing Project of the Guild that is dear to our hearts.  Members smock and stitch together tiny nightgowns and these gowns are then donated to the NICU at McMaster Medical Centre, in Hamilton, Ontario for those precious infants who do not ever make it home from the hospital.  Loving kindness and deepest sympathy is put into every gown made.  It is our hope that parents find some comfort holding their baby for the last time dressed in these gowns, rather than a regular hospital gown.  Parents either keep the gowns as a memento, as use them as burial gowns.

Each member is encouraged to complete two gowns a Guild year.  Members are given kits where the pleating is done and the sleeves and collar are included to be constructed when the smocking is done.

What a worthwhile cause where we get a chance to do some smocking and help others who are hurting.
